Reflection Questions
1. What are the good/strong parts of your vessel(s)? what is done well? because....
The good/strong parts of my vessels would be that it was fairly evenly round/thick. I think the ears and tongue are done well because they didn't fall off of my vessels like I thought it was going to.
2. What do you think you could have done better on this project? because..
I could have made the bowls equal in size, but didn't because I didn't have enough clay after I had already begun.
3.Describe the attributes of your form: Is it short, tall, wide, thin, thick, round, squared, etc. How?
Mine are short, wide, and about the width of my pinky like they were supposed to be. They are that way because I made them that way.
4. Describe the texture of your project's surface: is it rough, smooth, stippled, contoured, organic, ornamented. etc. How? because..
Mine is pretty rough, but after sand-papering it, the vessels aren't so bad.
5. What do you conclude about making clay projects using the pinch technique? Why? because..
I like the pinch pot technique because I get to use my hands. It's different than painting because with paints, you can't control what they do. You can (almost) always control clay exactly how you want it to when using your hands.
6. Metacognate: what did you learn from this project that you could apply to other projects in the future? What lessons could be applied to life in general? Why? because..
I learned how to properly get all of the air bubbles out of the clay, which will help in the future so my future pots don't blow up.
7. EVALUATE on the meaning of your pinch vessel: why did you do it the way you did? Was it planned? What is by chance? elaborate..
The ears and tongue were not originally planned. I did my pot the way I did so my cats would have a food and water dish, which is why I wrote their names on the side.
8. What skills/ strategies will you apply on the next clay project? Why?
Making my pot smoother, less rough, and even thickness would be what I want to work on in the future.
