Assignment 1A
The assignment for "1A" was to research pinch pottery techniques and then post 8+ pictures describing the different styles used for each.
After my research, I discovered that pinch pottery is the most basic and easiest kind of pottery. Almost everyone can succeed in making a pinch pot. Pinch pottery helps better our tactile sensitivity skills, or our touch skills. It will help to teach us how the clay responds to different types and pressures of touching. To get different outcomes with your pinch pottery, you'll have to use different pressures and techniques. To begin, you push your thumbs into the center of the clay and form simple walls for a start. Next, one must push the clay against a flat surface, like a table or notebook. This will create the base of your pinch pot.
